It’s amazing how much free time you have when you’re on parental leave, the newborn baby only feeds then sleeps so I can’t do much, and the a/c fan in the Grand Prix keeps randomly dying; forcing me to get another part to get it working so the newborn won’t feel uncomfortable. Anyways, I saw some new cars, and it was interesting.

This was a Ford...I forget what. Not sure if the ride height is stock, but I love the clearance here.

Saw this, thought it looked poetic somehow.

I’ve been digging trucks lately.

A bmw? Maybe?

No idea, it looked cool though.

A Monza?

This Camry looked perfect.

Ford Aspire! That one is in way better shape than most of the ones I owned back in the day! Your junkyard has a lot of great variety. Southwestern US?

I could get a decent egg for $200 and a whole Taurus/Contour/Cougar/Escape/6/Fusion/Milan/Sable/Mystic...etc. rotted out or wrecked dirt cheap. $500 in parts and good to go.

Knock yourself out. This is Regals Auto Salvage in Howel, MI. The guys don’t keep that good of track of the cars (admittedly), but they have a mostly easy to navigate lot. Unlike Miechals next door, where its luck to find the car you need.

I’ll plan a trip to the US someday, just going to scrapyards and getting car parts. Might be difficult to get them back home though.

Well, rust happens when metal meets oxygen or water. Which sort of happens all the time, daily even, so there is probably a natural preventative on it. What makes it worst is salt, which quickens the rusting process. So either 1. Some of these cars haven’t seen the road often, or 2. The owner got frequent car washes and took care of the cars. I'm gonna say #1 though.

Oh I’m well aware. My car looks like a powdered doughnut come winter time with all the salt they use here.
